Durham College

A university is opening up here in Oshawa, this centennial year. It is called the Durham College of Applied Science and Technology. The classes will commence this fall in portables. It is situated immediately south of the “Stud Farm[1]” on Simcoe St. North.

In March 1967, Gordon E. Willey was appointed first President of Durham College. On September 18, 1967, with an enrolment of 198 students, and with a staff of fourteen teachers, classes were held in eighteen portable buildings.[2]
